This 2023 Edition of 'Pin-Up Girls' opens with 'Keep Your Hands Off My Baby' by Little Eva, a song composed by the golden songwriters duo Carole King and Gerry Goffin. Second two tracks are LaVern Baker songs; 'How Can You Leave A Man Like This' performed by Ella Mae Morse, a Texas-born white singer who knocked everyone out with her hip, black-inflected vocals and 'I Cried A Tear' by LaVern herself. Julie London perform 'Days Of Wine And Roses' from Henry Mancini and Johnny Mercer (who co-founded Capitol Records). The final track is a cover from Bobby Darin's multi-million seller 'Dream Lover,' 'J'ai Reve' performed by the French icon Dalida. |
